ABOUT US
Schaftplaas Farm’s rich history dates back to the 18th century, where it served as a sanctuary for weary travellers seeking rest and nourishment. The name “Schaft” originated from the language of early settlers and symbolised the act of “resting to eat,” encapsulating the charming essence of its beginnings.
The farm’s stately manor house, constructed in 1832, stands as a testament to its heritage, preserved meticulously by successive generations of custodians. Today, under the caring stewardship of the Kruger family, Schaftplaas embraces its original character while enhancing its amenities to provide guests with a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern comfort.
